Those Sudden Experts "Working from Home"

This years family reunion turned out to be a real eye opener, but also drove home the nugget I learned some years ago, never pre judge anyone. You may think you know someone, but when you meet the real person, they are a lot like you. Seems everyone today is just too busy, and a little stressed financially.

To my surprise when we got to the family reunion, all anyone wanted to talk about was "economic stimulus package". Seems to be a lot of big plans with the little bit of money. Funny thing is most folks didn't realize that it is already their money, and big brother will hit us back for it later.

Anyway, what was interesting was how so many of my family have all of the sudden become "work from home" experts, in a few weeks? Turns out one side of the family all joined in an MLM,and not one of them had a clue of the right way to do business online.

I waited as they were all hyped up in the moment, and full of themselves. When the dust settled I asked a simple question,"Whats been your return on investment?". Oh you could have heard a pin drop. Talk about a mood killer. I got a lot of run around, and half educated guesses on what ROI. even was.

Folks, I felt real comfortable in giving my family members some loving advice, and direction, because i had been right where they were a few years ago. First I had to find out if they were committed to the business,or was it just a hobby? If they answered anything except Yes, I already knew their fate.

Second we had to get them to take focus of of themselves, and show them ways they could be givers first. You can build a longer, stronger business,by treating others as you would want to be treated.Other words, leave out the sales pitch until you get to know the person,at least in your second meeting.

It saddens me to see so many opportunity seekers get mislead and taken advantage of (family or not), and it can be prevented if folks would get greed out of their way. I believe a good education, and proper training is key, especially online where all the information is right at your finger tips. I believe that every online marketer/business person should have a mentor that hey can call on for guidance and instruction. Lets face it, the Net is a different environment than old fashioned belly to belly business.

I tell my all my team members, friends and family, that conviction to your business can pay six or seven figures. However you have to have goals, training, and a mentor to make your business an enjoyable success. I still rely on my mentor Rex Harris today, to keep up with industry changes.

I look forward to in another year, seeing the progress my family members have made, and I hope they don't wait too late to seek a mentor, there's one in the family right under their nose.

Yours Truly,

Hey Tim! Nice article and you couldn't be more right. With hundreds of thousands of people losing their jobs each month, there is no more important time than now to start looking at alternate sources of income. A mentor is crucial or at least a time-tested system. I have posted a few resources that may help as well at http://www.dreamjob123.com. I hope people take your advice!!
